Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Scriben web application.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scriben, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, then you may not access the service.

2. Use License

Scriben is provided as a free, web-based tool. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software for personal or commercial purposes in accordance with these terms.

3. Disclaimer of Warranties

The application is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In no event shall the authors or copyright holders be liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from, out of or in connection with the application.

4. Data Loss and Sync Responsibility

Scriben stores your documents locally in your browser's persistent database. We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from clearing your browser cache, using incognito mode, or other local database clears.

If you choose to use the optional **Secure Sync** feature, your documents are synced to your personal account on **Filen**. Since encryption is performed client-side and is entirely zero-knowledge, we do not hold, backup, or have any control over your synchronization keys, Filen credentials, or synchronized document copies. You are solely responsible for managing the credentials and data security of your Filen account. We are not liable for any sync conflicts, data loss, or service interruptions from Filen's network.

5. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
